Man in custody in connection to shooting at Carolina Beach Inn
CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) — Carolina Beach police say a man that is in custody in South Carolina has been charged for a shooting that took place at the Carolina beach inn.
Police say the shooting happened just before 3:00 a.m. Monday at the Carolina beach Inn on Harper Avenue.
Elizabeth Evans, 36, of Lugoff, South Carolina was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. She’s now in critical, but stable condition.
Police now say her boyfriend Dariel Wade Martin, 39, of Lugoff, faces multiple charges:
- Assault with Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury
- Possession of Firearm by Felon (Three Counts)
- Larceny of Motor Vehicle
- Simple Possession Marijuana
- Possession of Marijuana Paraphernalia
He’s being held in the Florence County Sheriff’s Office Detention Facility on unrelated charges.
