Castle Hayne man charged with 1st degree murder following death investigation

CASTLE HAYNE, NC (WWAY) — The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest following a death investigation that began on Saturday.

On Saturday afternoon, deputies responded to a home at 3329 Davis Lane in Castle Hayne, following reports of a suspicious person near that street.

Two people, Rebia and Eric Hobbs, were found dead inside the home, both having suffered fatal gunshot wounds.

35-year-old Shan Shawon Hobbs has been arrested and charged with two counts of 1st degree murder.

He is in the New Hanover County Detention Facility with no bond.

He will make his first court appearance on Monday morning.
