Castle Hayne man faces drug charges after traffic stop

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A New Hanover County man is facing drug charges after a traffic stop Tuesday night.

According to the Wilmington Police Department, units stopped a truck at Princess Place and Birchwood Drive for exceeding the posted speed limit just after 7:00 p.m. 

Officers noticed drugs in plain view and a search resulted in the discovery of crack cocaine.

Jose Abel Vasquez-Hernandez, 38, has been charged with Felony Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and No Operator’s License.

He is being held with a $10,000 secured bond at the NHSO Detention Center.
