‘Cats’ crawling back to Wilmington stage for first time since 2006

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — All the Jellicle cats will be crawling the stage at the Hannah Block Community Building for the first time since 2006.

This time the Thalian Association Children’s Theater is bringing the classic Andrew Lloyd Webber musical to life and will feature 31 kids ages 7 to 17.

The story of an annual gathering of cats selecting one special feline to ascend to the Heaviside layer is a musical theater phenomenon that has been performed countless times around the world.

In this production the cats are moved to an abandoned theater and Director David Loudermilk says “the kids have been rehearsing for two months.”

Performances are Thursday through Sunday and tickets are available at www.thalian.org
