LELAND, NC (WWAY) — The on-site investigation into a townhouse explosion in the Magnolia Greens community in Leland has been completed.

The explosion happened on may 16th in one of four connected townhomes in Suncrest Way in the Three Oaks Section of Magnolia Greens.

Work to carefully dismantle and examine the impacted structure wrapped up Friday morning, and investigators have sent evidence to labs for testing and analysis. Results are expected to take several weeks.

But a mechanical engineer who tested all liquefied petroleum gas tank regulators and lines connected to the property… Found they were all operating properly.

LP gas has now been ruled out as the cause of the explosion.
