Celebrate the strange: “Make Wilmington Weird Fest”
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Hi-Wire Brewery hosted the “Make Wilmington Weird Fest,” a celebration for local vendors and attendees who embody uniqueness and creativity.
This free event highlighted the quirky side of Wilmington, inviting attendees to indulge in a variety of eclectic activities.
Visitors experienced fire performances, tarot card readings, face painting, and even a petting zoo—there was something for everyone at this lively festival.
Catrina Tomsich, owner of City Gypsy Boutique downtown and coordinator of the event, shared her vision for the festival. “I just love diversity and culture, and so when I opened my store, I said you got to make it weird before you can keep it weird like everywhere else. So that’s how this all started from the motto of my store! This is just about vendors and people of all—everything—coming out and being themselves, being who they are, and just getting together and having fun.”
Tomsich also revealed that there will be more opportunities to “Make Wilmington Weird” in the future.
