CFCC announces new Massage Therapy Training program

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WWAY) — Cape Fear Community College is launching a new massage therapy training program designed to prepare students for a career as a Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist.
The program will provide hands-on training in therapeutic massage techniques and client care, equipping students with the skills needed to work in healthcare, wellness, and spa environments.
The program includes 683 hours of comprehensive training. These hours combine classroom instruction, laboratory practice, and real-world clinical experience. The curriculum meets the standards set by the North Carolina Board of Massage and Bodywork Therapy, ensuring graduates are well-prepared to pursue licensure and begin their careers.=
This one-year program will begin April 17, with classes held on Fridays and Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The cost to register for the course is $255. Students will also need to purchase uniforms, textbooks, and other supplies.
As a part of the course, students will participate in clinical training that includes providing massage treatments. Once students have completed most of their coursework hours, the program’s training spa will open to the public, offering the community an opportunity to receive massage treatments while supporting student learning.
Individuals interested in learning more about the program can attend a virtual information session on Wednesday, March 18, at 6:00 p.m. To learn more about the program, admission requirements, and costs, click here.
