WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Cape Fear Community College’s Barbering School is offering free back-to-school haircuts for children ages 5-17 on for the next two Saturdays.

The event will take place Saturday, August 17, and Saturday, August 24 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the CFCC Barber School, located at 108 Walnut Street in Wilmington.

CFCC says barbering students will provide the haircuts under the supervision of licensed instructors, giving students hands-on experience while supporting local families.

“Our Barbering School is excited to offer this service to the community,” said CFCC President Jim Morton. “We understand that back-to-school season can be stressful and expensive for families. We hope to alleviate some of that burden by offering free haircuts and providing our barbering students with valuable hands-on training.”

No appointments are necessary, and haircuts will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
