CFCC men move on; CFCC women and Hoggard girls don’t

FAYETTEVILLE, NC (WWAY) — Hoggard’s season ended on Saturday in the 4-A East Regional Finals.

SE Raleigh beat hoggard. 49-35. The Vikings shot 22% from the floor for the game. Hoggard had a four point lead midway through the second quarter, but the Bulldogs went on a run right before the break. Hoggard never regained the lead.

CFCC women’s basketball team lost to Guilford Tech on Saturday 82-65
in the Region X Championship Game.

The Cape Fear Community College men’s basketball team defeated USC Salkahatchie 64-51 for Region X title. Anthony Vanhook 15, Demetres Abrams 12, Cordea Wilson 10. Now 23-8 and headed to national tournament in Kansas. “I’m so very proud of these young men. We have battled through adversity throughout the year and they have responded with excellence,” per Ryan Mantlo, CFCC head coach.
