CFCC offering new screenwriting course through partnership with local production house

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Cape Fear Community College is offering a new partnership with Honey Head Films, a local production house.
CFCC will offer an eight-week screenwriting course taught by writer and director Erika Arlee.
Participants will take part in guided writing exercises, peer-led review sessions, and table reads with professional actors, gather insight about the pre-production process.
“Wilmington has a rich and longstanding history in film and television, and this course allows students to cultivate that passion right here in our community,” said Jim Morton, CFCC President. “By partnering with a local production company, we’re allowing aspiring writers to learn from industry professionals and grow their creative skills in an authentic, hands-on setting.”
The course will run from March 16 to May 4, 2026, meeting every Monday from 1 – 4 p.m. Classes will be held at Honey Head Films’ production office.
The cost of the course is $175.
