WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Cape Fear Community College (CFCC) has announced a $125,000 grant from the North Carolina Governor’s Crime Commission to enhance and extend training in child forensic interviewing.
This grant will enable CFCC to offer a series of specialized courses designed to equip law enforcement and collaborative partners in the criminal justice system with advanced skills in child forensic interviewing.
“We are grateful to be a recipient of this grant and provide professionals with the opportunity to enhance their skills in child forensic interviewing,” said Jim Morton, CFCC President. “These course offerings will allow law enforcement and their partner organizations to serve best the most vulnerable members of our society, our children.”
Courses will offer a comprehensive curriculum covering various aspects of child forensic interviewing, focusing on enhancing interview skills and conducting interviews in a sensitive, trauma-informed manner.
