CFCC students celebrate Christmas with ‘Charlie Brown’ play
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Christmas time is here, and CFCC drama students are celebrating by holding a fundraising play.
The group will perform a live version of the animated classic “A Charlie Brown Christmas.” Drama instructor Jack Landry says turning a cartoon into a stage performance takes a unique style of teaching.
“Part of the fun is in a way, you’re sort of encouraging people to be presentational — traditionally, sort of, bad acting,” Landry said.
The shows will be this Saturday and Sunday at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. at CFCC’s Humanities and Fine Arts Center. The cast asks that audience members bring non-perishable donations to give to Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard.
Tickets are free for children under 10 years old, $11 for adults and $7 for CFCC faculty, staff and students.
