CFCC to host Public Safety Career Discovery Night

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Cape Fear Community College will host a Public Safety Career Discovery Night later this month, offering community members an inside look at careers in fire service, emergency medical services, law enforcement, and other public safety fields.
The free event is scheduled for Tuesday, April 21, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the college’s North Campus, located in Castle Hayne.
Organizers say the event comes at a time when demand for trained public safety professionals is growing alongside rapid population increases in New Hanover and Pender counties.
The discovery night is open to prospective students, career changers, and anyone interested in pursuing a career in public safety. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet instructors, connect with industry professionals, and explore training programs designed to lead directly to in-demand jobs.
Participants can expect hands-on demonstrations and a closer look at real-world training environments, as well as information on program requirements, certifications, and potential career outcomes.
College officials say the event is designed to provide a clear pathway for those considering entering the public safety field, while also helping meet workforce needs in the region.
More information and registration details are available on the college’s website.
