CFCC to offer Introduction to Outboard Systems course at Surf City location

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WWAY) — Cape Fear Community College will offer the Introduction to Outboard Systems course at the Surf City location for the first time beginning June 9.
The course, offered in partnership with Yamaha, runs through August 20 and provides specialized training in outboard motor maintenance.
Designed to support the region’s strong marine industry, this course prepares students to master maintenance tasks associated with Yamaha F30-50 Midrange models. Participants will learn the service requirements for engines operating from 100 to 1,000 hours, gaining hands-on skills aligned with industry standards.
“This course represents an important expansion of our workforce training opportunities at the Surf City Campus,” said Erin Easton, CFCC Vice President of Economic and Workforce Development and Career and Technical Education. “By expanding our partnership with Yamaha, we’re ensuring students receive high-quality, industry-relevant instruction that prepare them for in-demand marine service careers.”
The cost of the course is $440. Registration is now open, and space is limited to ten participants.
