CFCC panel discusses religious tolerance
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The national conversation on religious tolerance was the topic of a forum at Cape Fear Community College today.
The event was sparked by two big stories that have dominated news lately. One was the construction of the Mosque at Ground Zero. The other was the Florida pastor who wanted to have “Burn a Kuran Day” on the anniversary of 9/11.
CFCC instructors on the panel wanted students to understand other religions even if they don’t like or adopt them. Instructors talked about how different religions have been perceived in the past, and how they are perceived today.
