WILMINGTON, N.C. (WWAY) — Alternative rock band, Pixies, is set to perform at CFCC’s Wilson Center this fall.

The concert is September 16, at 7:30 p.m.

Presale begins Wednesday, Mar. 25, at 12:00 p.m. General sale begins Friday, Mar. 27 at 10:00 a.m.

Marking four decades of their unique and influential sound that helped shape modern alternative rock, Pixies are back with their Pixies 40 anniversary tour.

Formed in Boston in 1986, Pixies emerged as an influential band of their era, known for their volatile mix of jagged guitars, surreal lyrics, and quiet-loud dynamics that would go on to inspire generations of artists.

Best known for iconic songs like “Where Is My Mind,” “Here Comes Your Man,” “Hey,” and “Debaser,” as well as the platinum-certified album Doolittle, their unmistakable style paved the way for some of the most well-known ensembles to date.

Now, 40 years on, founding members Black Francis, Joey Santiago, and David Lovering, joined by current bassist Emma Richardson, are celebrating their enduring legacy with a worldwide tour.

Audiences can expect a powerful live experience featuring beloved hits alongside material from their latest album, The Night the Zombies Came.

These newly announced tour dates mark Pixies’ first North American shows since their 2025 tour.
