CFPUA moving forward with rate increase
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — At Thursday’s CFPUA meeting, the board looked at backing off their vote last week to raise rates for customers.
Some board members said it’s just nor the right time to do it, given the uncertainty about the water. Others said they have a duty to continue long-term planning and funding.
In the end, the motion failed and the average increase of about two percent remains. For the average customer, that’s an extra $15.48 per year.
