CFPUA repairs sewer, sinkhole, and manhole on Wrightsville Avenue

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Work on a collapsed sewer line in Wilmington is expected to last throughout the weekend.

The emergency sewer repairs on Wrightsville Avenue near College Road began nearly one week ago.

CFPUA first responded to a backed up sewer.

The day after replacing the sewer a sinkhole appeared nearby.

Crews began to repair the sinkhole Monday and noticed a failing manhole in the area.

Work is being done on the manhole at the same time instead of scheduling work for later.

Drivers are asked to use caution in that area.
