Chadbourn to host wine social as start of strawberry festival

CHADBOURN, N.C. (WWAY) — A wine tasting event scheduled for April 18 will help launch this year’s North Carolina Strawberry Festival in Chadbourn, according to organizers.

The event, referred to as the Strawberry Festival Wine Social, is set for 6 to 9 p.m. at Brown Street Station, located at 202 N. Brown St.

Organizers say admission is $30 per person, with tickets available in advance or at the door. The ticket includes a wine tasting and one complimentary glass of wine. Additional wine will be available for purchase.

The event will also feature live entertainment by Chris Nash, as well as a grazing board and a silent auction with items including a weekend beach trip, according to the release.

The wine social serves as an early event leading into the annual North Carolina Strawberry Festival, which highlights agriculture, local culture and community traditions in southeastern North Carolina.
