Chandler’s Wharf Shops losing business

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Shops and restaurant owners in the Chandler’s Wharf Shops building, located on Ann and Water streets Downtown, are concerned about their businesses.

Stores like Camillions and Fuzz Love experience low numbers of customers coming through the shopping center, leaving their future’s in doubt.

“I don’t know what the future is for us. The future for us might be moving down the road, maybe the future for us is in Chandler’s Wharf.” Fuzz Love manager Colleen Lux said.

It’s not just them; all shops in Chandler’s Wharf are struggling with business.

Shop owners say that Chandler’s Wharf has something for everybody. The problem is there’s nobody coming in.

These locally owned shops have everything from Christmas decorations, to jewelry and even imported items from around the world.

But nothing has been able to get the items off the rack.

For these stores, they want shoppers to know that they are there and open.

“If you just want to make yourself feel good with a little retail therapy, this is a great place to do that at. We’re all here and we’re all friendly and we’d love to have new people around.”
