Charges dismissed against Bladenboro Mayor following traffic incident
BLADEN COUNTY (WWAY) — Charges against the Mayor of Bladenboro were dismissed Friday following a traffic incident last month.
On January 17th, Mayor David Hales was cited for an open container of alcohol in his vehicle and an expired registration.
According to court records, both charges were “dismissed without leave” on Friday by the District Attorney’s office.
Hales previously released a statement saying he took evasive action to avoid a head-on collision, causing his vehicle to enter a ditch, while he was on his way to a fire department appreciation dinner.
