Charlotte mall to reopen Tuesday after flooding

CHARLOTTE, NC (AP) — Officials at a Charlotte mall expect to reopen after flooding rains from last week.

SouthPark Mall officials said they think all of the stores affected by Friday’s flooding will be able to reopen Tuesday. Heavy rain from the storms collapsed parts of the ceiling.

There were no injuries. Emergency crews evacuated the mall.

There also were reports of flooded vehicles in the mall parking lot.

A number of stores already have reopened.
