WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Rock band Cheap Trick will perform at the Wilson Center at Cape Fear Community College this summer as part of its All Washed Up Tour.

The band is scheduled to take the stage Sunday, June 7, 2026, at 7 p.m., according to an announcement from the Wilson Center.

Cheap Trick formed nearly 50 years ago in Rockford, Illinois, with members Robin Zander, Rick Nielsen, Tom Petersson and Bun E. Carlos. The group is known for hits including “I Want You to Want Me,” “Surrender,” “Dream Police,” “California Man,” and the No. 1 single “The Flame.”

Over the decades, the band has earned more than 40 international gold and platinum certifications and sold more than 20 million records worldwide. Their music has also appeared on more than 20 movie soundtracks.

“The songs are why everybody knows Cheap Trick,” guitarist Rick Nielsen said in a statement. “‘I Want You to Want Me’ has been around for 40 years, but people still love it. And even if you’re sick of it, it’s over in three minutes.”

Cheap Trick is also preparing to release its 21st studio album and continues touring as it approaches its 50th anniversary.

Tickets will be available to Wilson Center members beginning Tuesday, March 17 at 10 a.m. Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday, March 20 at 10 a.m.

Tickets can be purchased online or in person through the Wilson Center box office.
