Child critically injured after being hit by vehicle on Wooster Street

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A 13-year-old child is in critical condition after being hit by a vehicle in Wilmington, according to police.

Officers said the incident happened Thursday evening near 9th and Wooster streets. Emergency crews responded and took the child to the hospital, where they remain in critical condition.

Wilmington Police say an investigation is underway.
