Child hospitalized after being struck by boat propellor in Wrightsville Beach

WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WWAY) — According to Wrightsville Beach Ocean Rescue, a child has been hospitalized after being hit by a boat propeller.

Ocean Rescue Director Sam Profitt confirmed that it happened near the south end of town around 11 a.m. on Sunday.

Profitt says the child was taken to Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center for treatment.
