Child injured in house fire


SUPPLY, NC (WWAY) — A house fire seriously injured a child in Supply this afternoon.

The Brunswick County Fire Marshall, Scott Garner, says the 911 call came in around 3:30.  Fire crews responded to a mobile home at 696 Sandy Bluff Drive.  When crews arrived, they found the home engulfed in flames.

EMS transported one child to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.  The child’s age and current condition is not known at this time.

Garner says they are still investigating how the fire started.

Fire crews from Tri-Beach, Civietown, Bolivia and Supply Fire Departments responded, along with Brunswick County EMS and Coastline Rescue Squad.
