City Council approves Real Time Crime Center funds

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Wilmington City Council unanimously approved spending $228,640 in federal money to build a new Real Time Crime Center at the Wilmington Police Department.

Chief Ralph Evangelous spoke to council tonight about the need for the center.

He said the center will help officers be better prepared for when they respond to crimes like armed robberies or shootings, because they will have more information before they arrive on scene.
