City Council still has concerns over Trolley Pub

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Today the Wilmington City Council met to discus a number of topics including Trolley Pub setting up shop here in the Port City.

Council member Kevin O’Grady stated several concerns with the trolley. O’Grady said he is worried about the monitoring of alcohol consumption while on the trolley as well as the current route which allows the trolley to pass through a residential area of downtown.

The owners of Trolley Pub said today that they have already adapted the route to keep the trolley off 3rd St.

The trolley is already in several North Carolina cities including Raleigh and Ashville. Wilmington Police Chief Ralph Evangelous said at today’s meeting that he has seen no issues with operation in those locations.
