WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The City of Wilmington says the Riverwalk is getting a fresh new look.

The city announced that nearly 1000 feet of decking has already been replaced as part of a multi-year makeover.

The city says the first phase kicked off at the foot of nun street and continued north to Ann Street, making the scenic stroll smoother and safer.

They say the plan is to put some finishing touches near convention center drive, before a pause for the busy summer season.
