City of Wilmington seeks proposals to demolish Chestnut Street property

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The City of Wilmington has placed an advertisement seeking bids to demolish one of its office buildings on Chestnut Street.
Last year, city council approved a resolution that declared the property at 305 Chestnut as surplus property, in order to sell it to help offset the costs of purchasing the former PPD building on N Front Street.
On Tuesday, the City of Wilmington posted an advertisement for bids to demolish the property. Bids will be accepted until June 6, with a mandatory pre-bid conference to be held next week.
Once the building is demolished and the land is cleared, the city will then list the land for sale.
