Clarkton mayor dies at 78 years old
CLARKTON, NC (WWAY) — The mayor of Clarkton died Wednesday.
James “Tim” Timothy Tart, 78, was a Vietnam Veteran of the 82nd Airborne Division of Fort Bragg and a Bronze Medal Recipient. He was born and raised in Bladen County.
“Besides his love for his family, the love of his town was the center of his life. Tim had a passion to see his community expand and he was an entrepreneur for sure. His goal was always to do what was best for the citizens of Clarkton and for his family,” his obituary reads.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am at the Clarkton Presbyterian Church in Clarkton with the Reverend Barrett Ingram officiating.
Burial will follow the services in the Clarkton Cemetery.
