Coast Guard continues search for missing boat, four crew members
RALEIGH (AP) — Coast Guard crews continued searching today for a missing sailboat and its four crew members who went missing off the North Carolina coast.
The 54-foot "Flying Colours" has been missing since Monday. Coast Guard crews have scoured nearly 50-thousand square miles looking for the boat.
Officials say the boat is based in Washington, DC, and was traveling from Saint Thomas in the US Virgin Islands to Annapolis, Maryland.
The sailboat's distress signal came in the same day the Coast Guard rescued nine people from three boats off the North Carolina coast.
Subtropical Storm Andrea continued to make conditions rough today, producing swells up to 15 feet off the coast.
