Coastal Cowboys 10U Team wins consolation game at national championship
Wilmington team wins Division II game December 7 after loss the prior Saturday
Orlando, FL (WWAY) — The Coastal Cowboys 10U football team has bragging rights throughout the region, after winning this morning’s consolation game for the Division II national championships at the 64th Pop Warner Super Bowl in Orlando.
According to Pop Warner officials, the Superbowl features a week of competition among 72 teams from several age groups, separated into 2 divisions.
The Cowboys team competed in Division II, and fell to the West Haven (CT) Seahawks 34-19 in their first game Saturday, Dec. 4.
The score of today’s consolation game was much closer, with the Cowboys edging out the Portage (IN) Indians, 21-19.
