Coastal Horizons celebrates 55 years at their annual meeting
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Hundreds of people gathered today for Costal Horizons’ 55th annual meeting in downtown Wilmington.
It was held at the Wilmington Convention Center.
Coastal Horizons was founded in 1970 as a substance abuse organization.
Since that time, the organization has grown to provide a range of substance use, mental health, crisis intervention, justice, and wellness services for people in need.
During today’s meeting, a number of people were recognized for their contributions to the organization.
President and CEO Margaret Weller-Stargell says she grateful for everyone who has help grow the organization into a nationally accredited non-profit corporation.
“This is also a time that we recognize individuals that have been with the organization for a while. We do service pents in 5, 10, 15, and up increments and that’s to say we appreciate your commitment and dedication to this organization,” said Stargell.
Coastal Horizons provides services in more than half of the one hundred counties in North Carolina.
