Columbus Christian Academy to host ‘Merry Christmas Market’ Saturday
COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — One school is getting creative and festive with ways to fundraise.
Columbus Christian Academy in Whiteville, off Peacock Rd. at Smyrna Baptist Church, is wrapping up the first half of the academic year.
Both staff and students are settled in after renovating the mobile units, bought from the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office for one dollar, into classrooms for students.
Their next project includes supplying elementary students with better access to technology, such as iPads.
To achieve this, CCA is hosting a ‘Merry Christmas Market’ with local vendors.
“We want to set our students up for success in knowing how to properly use technology,” Columbus Christian Academy Third Grade Teacher, Alexis Sellers, said. “While it does have its downfall, there’s also tons of resources available through technology that we feel would be extremely beneficial in our classrooms.”
The ‘Merry Christmas Market’ will take place this Saturday, December 16, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the school grounds. All money raised will go towards funding their need for technology.
