Columbus County deputies investigating after 20 mailboxes vandalized

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a string of mailbox vandalism incidents in the North Whiteville community.

Deputies say in the early morning hours of April 6, someone intentionally damaged about 20 mailboxes.

Investigators with the agency’s Criminal Investigations Division are working to identify the person or people responsible. Authorities are looking for the person driving the truck shown in a photo released by the sheriff’s office.

Officials are asking anyone who recognizes the truck or has information about the incident to come forward.

Tips can be submitted to the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office or anonymously through their tip portal.
