WHITEVILLE, NC (WWAY) — District Attorney Jon David announced that Wally Whaley pled guilty on November 6, 2025 to several charges related to the sexual and physical abuse of minors.

The DA’s Office says the events occurred in 2024.

Pursuant to his plea, Senior Resident Superior Court Judge C. Ashley Gore sentenced Whaley to at least 18 years in the custody of the Department of Adult Corrections.

She also ordered him to register as a sex offender upon release from prison and have no contact with the victims.

The DA’s Office says the Tabor City Police Department conducted the investigation and Carolyn’s Kaleidoscope Child Advocacy Center was instrumental in securing justice.
