Columbus County man sentenced to three consecutive life sentences
COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Natrell McKinnies has been sentenced to three consecutive life terms without the possibility of parole for the separate-but-related deaths of Diondi Sadler, Deonde Sadler, and William Edwards Jr. The deaths occurred in July 2019, July 2021, and April 2023.
District Attorney Jon David announced the sentencing occurred on March 18th, 2026.
Prosecutors said the resolution was supported by the victims’ families, who chose not to pursue the death penalty in favor of certainty and closure.
Investigations were conducted by the State Bureau of Investigation, Whiteville Police Department and Columbus County Sheriff’s Office.
