Columbus County Sheriff’s Office invites public to crime prevention event

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — On Thursday, the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office will host a community event discussing crime at the East End Office.
The Criminal Investigation Division will run the event with Sheriff Bill Rogers and Detective Weaver leading the discussion.
They’ll focus on crime prevention and protecting the community. Topics include types of crimes, crime prevention strategies, crimes in the community, what to do when you are a victim of a crime, and the criminal justice process.
After the presentation, there will be a Q and A session for community members to speak directly with the investigators about concerns in the area.
The free event is open to public and the sheriff’s office encourages the community to attend.
