WHITEVILLE, NC (WWAY) — The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office arrested two men on drug charges.

On April 4, the Sheriff’s Office’s Special Operations Division initiated two searches. The first was conducted at 99 Mt. Moriah Church Road in Whiteville, where they arrested Daheem Kevin Durante, 29. The Sheriff’s Office says it found Durante with a trafficking quantity of cocaine, alongside materials indicative of drug manufacturing and distribution.

The second search was then conducted at 650 Thompson Town Road, where Durante typically resides.  The Sheriff’s Office says it found Cazia Treion Jones, 22, with trafficking amounts of cocaine, fentanyl, and marijuana, in addition to items suggestive of drug production and distribution. The Sheriff’s Office says it also found four guns.

Mr. Jones was also taken into custody and transported to the Columbus County Detention Center.

After first court appearances, Durante’s bond has been raised to $250,000. Jones’ bond has been raised to $150,000.

The Sheriff’s Office anticipates further arrests.
