Columbus County woman arrested on 79 charges of animal cruelty

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A Columbus County woman is charged with animal cruelty after allegedly doing surgical procedures on animals without a license.

Deborah Ross Dahl, 70, of Wallace is charged with one count of misdemeanor practicing medicine without a license and 79 misdemeanor charges of cruelty to animals.

Arrest warrants claim the 79 counts of cruelty had Dahl intentionally overdrive, overload, deprive of necessary sustenance an animal unknown breed canine.

The other charge stems from an allegation that Dahl either performed or attempted to perform surgery on a bulldog.

She has bonded out of jail.
