Community comes together for flood benefit concert

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WLOS) — A one-day benefit concert looks to raise $50,000 for Central Carolina Community Foundation, a non-profit that serves 11 counties in the Midlands, said The Big Dam Benefit organizer, Tom Hall.

“In this weird way, this bad storm is doing more good than harm,” he said.

A number of people came to City Roots, a 2.75 acre farm, in Columbia for a free concert.

Hall says 12 bands performed, free of charge. Instead of charging, he encouraged people to donate money.
