Community invited to celebrate life of Burgaw craftsman
BURGAW, NC (WWAY) — The public is invited to an event to celebrate the life, creativity, and legacy of service of Donald Fred Tornow, Jr. — a craftsman.
The free event will be held at the Pender Arts Council building on Wright Street in Burgaw from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
According to the press release, Tornow had a deep love for people. He was a lifelong creator and craftsman. His talents included woodworking, leatherwork, stained glass, painting, and more.
Tornow was also a member of the Burgaw Lion Club where he served as Treasurer and Past President.
The exhibition will feature a collection of Tornow’s artwork and handcrafted pieces.
Attendees can walk through the gallery, share stories and celebrate Tornow’s life.
Family and friends can contribute photos, stories, written memories, or items crafted by Tornow for display. Submissions can be emailed to camtornow@gmail.com.
Donations may also be made to the Burgaw Lions Club.
