Community rides motorcycles for a cause

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — You have a chance to take your motorcycle out for a joy ride and a good cause Friday night.  

 

Performance cycles is hosting the Ride For A Cause event that benefits the Wilmington Police Recreation Association.

 

A portion of ticket sales will go to the association to fund a flag pole project that will be illuminated 24 hours a day. The performance cycles owner says he'll also be riding and expects at least 75 more to do the same.

 

Joe Peterson, owner of Performance Cycles said, "Just getting the community together, you know, just getting everybody together and helping our local law enforcement." 

 

The event kicks off at seven with a police escorted ride that ends at Ziggy's By The Sea, then bikers get to enjoy a concert featuring Jackyl.
