Community tip leads to arrest in Brunswick County armed robbery

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A woman accused of robbing a Dollar General in Longwood at gunpoint is in custody.

The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office says Summer Odell was arrested Thursday morning after someone in the Brunswick Plantation community reported seeing her and called 911.

On Wednesday, she allegedly threatened a Dollar General store clerk with a handgun for money, stole about $200, then took off.

Odell is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon.
