Conference in Bladen County this weekend to address food insecurity

DUBLIN, NC (WWAY) — A conference focused on food access and local agriculture will bring together farmers, producers and community members in Bladen County this weekend.
The event, titled “Bridging the Gap: Tackling Food Insecurity Together,” is scheduled for Saturday, March 21, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Workforce Development Building at Bladen Community College.
Organizers say the conference is designed to encourage discussion around food insecurity and ways to strengthen local food systems. Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with growers and learn about sustainable farming practices.
The event is open to the public and aims to foster collaboration between those involved in food production and members of the community interested in improving access to fresh, locally sourced food.
Organizers say the goal is to highlight ongoing efforts in the region and explore solutions to address food insecurity at the local level.
