Controlled burn planned for Carolina Beach State Park

CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) – If you see or smell smoke near Carolina Beach Thursday, June 17, don’t be alarmed — a controlled burn is planned at Carolina Beach State Park.

The burn will begin around 11:00 a.m. near thee Flytrap Trail Parking on the southwest side of the park.

Road and trails near the site will be closed throughout the duration of the burn.

Officials say the rest of the park will be open as normal including the visitor center, marina, campground, and remaining trails.
