Cooper orders flags across NC to half-staff to honor Barbara Bush
RALEIGH, NC (WWAY) — Gov. Roy Cooper ordered on Wednesday that all United States and North Carolina flags at state facilities to be lowered to half-staff to honor the passing of former first lady Barbara Bush.
“Barbara Bush was an inspiration for millions of Americans and families around the world. As first lady, she was a role model for so many to follow and her work to expand literacy made an enduring impact,” said Cooper.
“Mrs. Bush’s leadership and example will be greatly missed, and our prayers are with her and the entire Bush family today.”
Cooper said flags should remain at half-staff until sunset on Friday.
