County Parks and Gardens reports vandals torch fencing in Smith Creek Park


NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) – The New Hanover County Parks and Gardens reports vandals have struck again at a local park that is frequently victimized.

Parks and Gardens posted to their Facebook page Saturday discovering the damage at Smith Creek Park just off of Gordon Road. Images show a portion of the wood fencing at the park as well as a trash can were set a blaze.

Parks and Gardens officials say the vandalism took place some time Friday evening.
