Court appearance for Southport hit and run suspect

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The woman accused in a weekend hit and run in Southport made her first court appearance on Monday.
Cindy Ahlgren Early appeared in Brunswick County court to face felony Hit and Run Resulting in Serious Injury and Driving While Impaired charges.
Early was arrested on Saturday afternoon following a report of a hit and run accident involving multiple vehicles, with injuries, at the intersection of Moore and N Howe Street. Police say Early left the scene of the crash but was caught a short time later.
A person was pinned between 2 vehicles that were struck, and remains in the hospital in critical condition. Their identity is not being released at this time.
Early was released on bond. Her next court appearance is scheduled for September 26th.
